Dear mistress - anecdotes of a life with Emperor Maximilian I | |
Fuhrmannhaus |
In this total work of art her own musical arrangements and texts based on historical events, Johanna Beisteiner brings to life a piquant detail in the private life of Emperor Maximilian I. The artist’s texts deal with the fate of one of the emperor’s mistresses. Maximilian recognized the son of this relationship, George of Austria (1504-1557), as his own, thereby enabling him to have a brilliant career as a clergyman. With music by the most important composers from the Renaissance and late Middle Ages, the audience is immersed in the early 16th century.
